Sintra National Palace
The historic Sintra National Palace represents the most well-preserved medieval palace in Portugal. You can tour the palace, which was named a National Monument and World Heritage Site, for a closer look at the preservation and restoration. This castle dates back to the 10th century and was inhabited from at least the 15th through 19th centuries. While it was built in Moorish times, its architectural style is a result of rebuilding in the 1400s. View the mixture of Gothic, Manueline, Mudéjar, and Moorish style present today, as well as decorative ceramic tiles added to the site during the Age of Discoveries. Not to be mixed up with the palace of Pena which is on the mountain! This palace is way nicer to visit and there is a lot more inside. It foes not have the same views as the other palace but it is way more accessible and interesting. This palace is for those interesting in learning a bit more about the Portuguese royal family. This place is not a tourist trap and brings people a lot of new and amazing facts about the Portuguese royals. When in Sinatra this is a must!

A very impressive palace and a must see in Sintra. The palace is incredibly well maintained and easy to navigate. TIPS: you can skip the queue and but tickets either at an on-site kiosk or online. It will save you time and you get a discount. Also, if you have young kids that get bored easy there is a free interactive app called Treasure Hunt at Sintra Palace that is great for entertaining them.
