Praça da República needs no introduction, being located precisely in the historic and main center of the city. It was named Campo do Forno, Praça da Rainha and finally Praça da República. This emblematic square received the most emblematic buildings of the 16th century, such as the Paços do Concelho, the Hospital and Igreja da Misericórdia and, in its center, the Fountain with the same name as the Praça and also, a few meters away, the Igreja Matriz. The most recent building, Museu do Traje, combines a space with centuries of life with people giving this life, and currently a clothing space that these people then used.
