Fabulous palace, and we were lucky to have a great guide who took us round the whole palace pointing out and explaining many features that we would otherwise have missed. Lovely lake at the entrance..... more

Lovely old Portuguese estate. The buildings are well maintained and architecture is very interesting. The well manicured gardens are beautiful with an intriguing tree tunnel. The winemaking area has interesting old bottles of port and wine dating back to 1886. A highlight is the view of the house and it's reflection in the pond. There is a small shop that offers a limited assortment of drinks (coffee and beer) beside the house.

Gorgeous place with a special atmosphere. Except being depicted on the label this place has nothing to do with that fizzy rose wine. The gardens alone are worth a visit.
