Norrviken Gardens is a garden, located about 3 kilometers northwest of Båstad, Skåne County, Sweden. It was founded by Rudolf Abelin in the early 1900s. The garden was chosen as the most beautiful park in Sweden and the second most beautiful in Europe in 2006. Due to financial issues the park has begun to fall into decline. Different interest groups are doing efforts to come up with new ways to fund the park, but disagreements between the groups have hampered the development of the park. One major problem is the location which decreases the use of the park as a venue for commercial interests.

  • Beautiful, well maintained gardens in a picturesque setting in-between the hills and the sea. Fascinating story about the life of the founder Abelin told throughout the walk through the gardens. Not too big to enjoy the whole place in a few hours. There is a cafe and a restaurant in the middle of the gardens and a shop at the entrance/exit.
  • Having read about this garden in SCAN Magazine some time ago, I have finally been able to visit this beautiful garden! Highly recommend it
