Enter a storyland of children's literature at Junibacken, a museum devoted to famous works for kids, especially those of Astrid Lindgren, who wrote "Pippi Longstocking." This children's museum was opened in 1996 and is one of the city's most-visited sites. In addition to its permanent exhibits dedicated to authors and illustrators, it houses a theater, restaurant, and temporary displays. Seek out the interactive exhibits, like the storybook square, where each house represents a different Swedish children's writer, or the train ride ending at the home of Lindgren's most famous character--Pippi Longstocking. It’s a five star for that train story ride! So much details in that art and the adventure was an amazing experience. But honestly, the story of that train ride was more appropriate for 12+. The theater actors are good too! Definitely recommend it. Play area are also great! The only things that would make this a three star is that it is sometimes it’s too crowded that it comes to the point that the kids doesn’t have enough place to play, and that story in the train ride was appropriate for 12+. I still give them 5stars for the great experience
Super beautiful place to go with kids. Really beautiful to see Swedish classic books come to life. The theatre was great! Everything was clean and the bathrooms always neat. The train can be a little/pretty scary for kids. The staff is great. Is probably the best of the place. They are always nice. The bad part with this place is that you can’t take food with you and we went with our kids which have egg allergies and both kids menu had egg. Big fail. Hungry kids is never fun. The restaurant is not so good, unfortunately.
