Szeged — 2 nights

Szeged is the third largest city of Hungary, the largest city and regional centre of the Southern Great Plain and the county seat of Csongrád county. Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Thu): learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Szeged Zoo, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Domotor Tower, make a trip to Dom Square, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Votive Church, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church of Szeged. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: see the interesting displays at Pick Salami and Szeged Paprika Museum, indulge in some personalized pampering at Hagymatikum Thermal Bath, and then pause for some photo ops at Millennium Fountain.

Debrecen — 4 nights

Debrecen is the second largest city in Hungary after Budapest. Explore Debrecen's surroundings by going to Nyiregyhaza (Korzo Shopping Centre, Zoo Sosto, &more). Spend the 6th (Mon) exploring nature at Hortobagy National Park. There's still lots to do: relax and rejuvenate at Aquaticum Medicinal and Thermal Baths, admire the striking features of Great Church (Nagytemplom), stroll around Nagyerdei Park, and don't miss a visit to Main Building of University of Debrecen.

You can drive from Szeged to Debrecen in 3.5 hours. Another option is to take a train. In March in Debrecen, expect temperatures between 14°C during the day and 1°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Budapest.

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Budapest is known for historic sites, sightseeing, and nightlife.
