Nissa la Bella (Nice the Beautiful)

Well-known for the beautiful views of its famous Promenade des Anglais waterfront, Nice is an ethnically-diverse coastal port city on the French Riviera and the fifth most populated city in France.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Old Town and La Croisette. Visiting Be Free 2 Dive and Castel Plage will get you outdoors. Take a break from Nice with a short trip to Le Suquet in Cannes, about 42 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedrale Saint-Nicolas a Nice, see the interesting displays at Musée Marc Chagall, do a tasting at Domaine de Toasc, and take a stroll through Avenue Jean Medecin.

Monte-Carlo, Monaco to Nice is an approximately half hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Tue) early enough to drive to Verona.

City of Romeo and Juliet

The famous setting for Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, Verona is one of northern Italy's main tourist destinations, largely owing to its incredibly rich artistic heritage.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Piazza San Marco and Piazza delle Erbe. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Verona: Venice (Ponte dei Sospiri, Doge's Palace, &more) and Padua (Piazza della Frutta, Scrovegni Chapel, &more). The adventure continues: see a show at Arena di Verona, don't miss a visit to Torre dei Lamberti, pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore, and contemplate the long history of Museo di Castelvecchio.

You can drive from Nice to Verona in 4.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of flight and train; or fly. Traveling from Nice in June, you will find days in Verona are a bit warmer (34°C), and nights are about the same (20°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive back home.
