Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Get some historical perspective at Old Town Centre of Radovljica and Cathedral of St. Nicholas. Get in touch with nature at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Peričnik Falls. Venture out of the city with trips to Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum (in Idrija), Velika Planina (in Stahovica) and St. Volbenk's Church (in Škofja Loka). Piran — 2 nights

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Sat): admire the local landmark of Da Ponte Fountain, explore the fascinating underground world of Škocjan Caves, step into the grandiose world of Socerb Castle, then identify plant and animal life at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve, and finally take in the waterfront at Port Piran. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 18th (Sun): see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church, then pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St. Francis of Assisi, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Piran Minorite Monastery.

Traveling by car from Ljubljana to Piran takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Get outdoors at Kozjak Waterfall and Planica Valley. Get some historical perspective at Outdoor Museum Kolovrat (muzej na prostem) and Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit. Take a break from Bovec with a short trip to Nadiza in Kranjska Gora, about 44 minutes away. There's still lots to do: whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, contemplate the waterfront views at Source of the Soča River, and see the sights as you ascend with a climbing tour.
