Oland — 2 nights

Start off your visit on the 5th (Thu): take in the spiritual surroundings of Kalmar Cathedral, then identify plant and animal life at Neptuni Akrar, then get answers to all your questions at Naturum Trollskogen, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Lyckesand. Keep things going the next day: enjoy the sea views from Fyren Lange Jan, look for all kinds of wild species at Ottenby Naturum, then gain insight at Stiftelsen Capellagården, then snap pictures at Ölandsbron, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Stadsparken.

Stockholm to Oland is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and taxi; or drive; or do a combination of train and taxi. Ahus — 3 nights

Åhus is the second largest locality in Kristianstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 9,423 inhabitants in 2010, but the number triples during the summer due to tourists who come seeking the beaches and nature of the Helgeå and Hanöbukten area. You'll get in some beach time at Sandhammarens Strand and Tappet havsbad. Take a break from the city and head to Stenshuvud National Park and Knabackshusens strand. Get out of town with these interesting Ahus side-trips: S:t Nicolai kyrka (in Simrishamn), Ales Stenar (in Ystad) and Kiviks Musteri (in Kivik). There's much more to do: play a few rounds at Kristianstads Golfbana, look for gifts at Art In Garden, kick back and relax at Revhaken Havsbad, and explore the world behind art at Ahus Museum.
