Not far from Brussels, Mons is home to a World Heritage Site, the former home of Van Gogh, and Roman ruins.
Kick off your visit on the 19th (Fri): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Collegiate Church of Saint Gertrude, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Abbaye de Villers, and then stroll the grounds of St Symphorien Military Cemetery. On the 20th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at Le Bois du Cazier, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Pairi Daiza, and then admire the masterpieces at Francois Duesberg Museum.
