Szeged — 2 nights

Szeged is the third largest city of Hungary, the largest city and regional centre of the Southern Great Plain and the county seat of Csongrád county. Start off your visit on the 10th (Sun): take in the spiritual surroundings of Szent Istvan Church. On the 11th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: identify plant and animal life at Buffalo Reservation, then kick back and relax at Koros Torok Sandy Beach, then indulge in some personalized pampering at Hagymatikum Thermal Bath, and finally trek along Lombkorona setany.

Budapest to Szeged is an approximately 3.5-hour train ride. You can also drive; or take a train; or take a bus. In January, plan for daily highs up to 3°C, and evening lows to -3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Tue) so you can drive to Debrecen.

Debrecen — 2 nights

Debrecen is the second largest city in Hungary after Budapest. Start off your visit on the 13th (Wed): admire the landmark architecture of Great Church (Nagytemplom), then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Szent Anna Cathedral and Parish Church, then take an in-depth tour of Museum of the Reformed College of Debrecen, and finally look and learn at Agora Science Center. On the 14th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: test the waters at Kamilla Bath, identify plant and animal life at Pusztai Allatpark, then pause for some serene contemplation at Co-cathedral of Our Lady of the Hungarians, and finally browse the different shops at Korzo Shopping Centre.
