Pointe-a-Pitre — 14 nights

Pointe-à-Pitre is the largest city of Guadeloupe, an overseas région and département of France located in the Lesser Antilles, of which it is a sous-préfecture, being the seat of the Arrondissement of Pointe-à-Pitre.Although Pointe-à-Pitre is not Guadeloupe's administrative capital (that distinction goes to Basse-Terre), it is nonetheless the region's largest city and economic capital. Bring the kids along to Memorial Acte and Scuba & Snorkeling. Change things up with these side-trips from Pointe-a-Pitre: Anse-Bertrand (Lagon de la Porte d'Enfer, Anse Laborde, &more), Sainte Rose (Pointe Allegre, Regy Balade, &more) and Port-Louis (Beauport le Pays de la Canne & Anse du Souffleur). There's still lots to do: admire the sheer force of Cascade aux Ecrevisses, explore and take pictures at Route de la Traversee, make a trip to Cathedrale Saint Pierre Saint Paul, and kick back and relax at Plage de Grande Anse.
