The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
On the 9th (Fri), make a splash at Darwin Waterfront and then observe the fascinating underwater world at Aquascene Fish Feeding. On the 10th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the world from above with a helicopter tour, then get engrossed in the history at RFDS Darwin Tourist Facility, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Berry Springs Nature Park.

Sydney to Darwin is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone difference when traveling from Sydney to Darwin is minus 0.5 hours. When traveling from Sydney in June, plan for much hotter days in Darwin, with highs around 36°C, while nights are somewhat warmer with lows around 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Jabiru (Kakadu National Park).
