Åhus is the second largest locality in Kristianstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 9,423 inhabitants in 2010, but the number triples during the summer due to tourists who come seeking the beaches and nature of the Helgeå and Hanöbukten area. You'll get in some beach time at Malarhusens strand and Sandhammarens Strand. Take a break from the city and head to Mossbystrand beach and Knabackshusens strand. Change things up with these side-trips from Ahus: Borrby strand (in Borrby) and Per Helsas Gard (in Ystad). There's more to do: stroll through Tappet havsbad and enjoy the sand and surf at Revhaken Havsbad.
