Lent iconic status as a result of its famous bridge and opera house, Sydney has a down-to-earth charm that enhances its spectacular setting and functional efficiency.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Art Gallery of New South Wales and Watsons Bay. The Rocks and Justice & Police Museum will appeal to history buffs. There's still lots to do: trek along Bondi to Coogee Walk, admire the natural beauty at Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, kick back and relax at Bondi Beach, and take in the views from Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Fly from Port Macquarie to Sydney in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Port Macquarie in March, plan for somewhat warmer days in Sydney, with highs around 79°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 66°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 4th (Mon) so you can catch the flight to Hobart.
