The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
Schonbrunn Palace and Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get in touch with nature at Alpine Joe - Mountain Hiking Guide and Donauinsel. Change things up with a short trip to Naturpark Mannersdof-Wuste in Mannersdorf am Leithagebirge (about 42 minutes away). The adventure continues: take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Stephen's Cathedral, see the interesting displays at Hofburg, meet the residents at Schönbrunn Zoo, and admire the landmark architecture of Haus der Musik Wien.

Despite its small size, Zell am See is a well-visited tourist destination known mostly as a ski resort town, and it serves as an important transportation hub for the region.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Wed): look for all kinds of wild species at Wagrain Grafenberg, then make a trip to Liechtensteinklamm, and then test the waters at Alpentherme Gastein. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: admire the sheer force of Bad Gasteiner Wasserfall, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Maximillian, then explore the historical opulence of Erlebnisburg Hohenwerfen, and finally get outside with Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
