The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Darwin Military Museum and RFDS Darwin Tourist Facility will appeal to museum buffs. Get in touch with nature at Safaris and Florence Falls. Get out of town with these interesting Darwin side-trips: Litchfield National Park (Magnetic Termite Mounds, Tolmer Falls, &more), Batchelor (Nina's Ark Wildlife Sanctuary & Batchelor Museum) and Dundee Beach (Dundee Beach Fishing Charters & Dundee Explorer). Spend the 26th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Spend the 4th (Fri) exploring nature at Charles Darwin National Park.
