One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Trickeye Museum Seoul and National Folk Museum of Korea. Get a sense of the local culture at Jogyesa Temple and Seodaemun Prison History Hall. When in Seoul, make a side trip to see Everland in Yongin, approximately Yongin away. There's still lots to do: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, browse the collection at Starfield Library, see the interesting displays at National Palace Museum of Korea, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Bongeunsa Temple.

Gangneung — 4 nights

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Get in touch with nature at Ulsanbawi Rock and Yukdam Falls. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Gyeongpo Beach and Naksansa Temple. Explore Gangneung's surroundings by going to Pyeongchang-gun (Daegwanryeong Samyang Ranch & Woljeongsa Temple), Sokcho (Teddy Bear Farm & Biryong Falls) and Uisangdae (in Yangyang-gun). There's much more to do: examine the collection at Ojukheon, contemplate the waterfront views at Yeongnangho Lake, visit Chodang Sundubu Village, and enjoy the sea views from Jumunjin Lighthouse.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Get some cultural insight at Cheonmachong Tomb and Cheomseongdae Observatory. Explore hidden gems such as Gyeongju National Museum and Ulsan Grand Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Gyeongju: Daegu (February 28 Democratic Movement Memorial Park, Seonam Market, &more) and Ulsan (Daewangam Park & Yeomposan Mountain). Busan — 5 nights

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Beomeosa Temple and UN Memorial Cemetery. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Dadaepo Beach and Gwangandaegyo Bridge. Get out of town with these interesting Busan side-trips: Yeojwacheon Stream (in Changwon), Geoje (Gonggoji, Oedo Botania, &more) and Gimhaeeupsung North gate (in Gimhae).
