Rome — 33 nights

Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Colosseum and St. Peter's Basilica are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Head to La Bottega degli Orsini and Spazio Farofor some retail therapy. Change things up with these side-trips from Rome: Frascati (Minardi Frascati Winery, Cantina da Santino, &more), Tivoli (Villa Adriana, Villa d'Este, &more) and Castel Gandolfo (Le Palme & Le Ninfe). There's much more to do: wander the streets of Trastevere, indulge your taste buds at Food & Drink, delve into the distant past at Palatine Hill, and learn about winemaking at Decugnano dei Barbi.
