Budapest — 3 nights

Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Food Tours and Esztergom Basilica / Cathedral. Change things up with these side-trips from Budapest: Esztergom (Vizivaros Parish Church & Statue of King Saint Stephen). There's lots more to do: get a sense of history and politics at Hungarian Parliament Building, admire the striking features of Matthias Church, walk around Margaret Island, and take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika).

For maps, reviews, ratings, and tourist information, refer to the Budapest visit website.

If you are flying in from Albania, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. In May, daily temperatures in Budapest can reach 25°C, while at night they dip to 11°C.
