Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Archaeological Park and Aeropark Budapest will appeal to museum buffs. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Fisherman's Bastion and St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika). Venture out of the city with trips to Nadasdy - Kastely (in Nadasdladany), Wesselenyi Beach Balatonalmadi (in Balatonalmadi) and Beach (in Tiszakecske). The adventure continues: contemplate the long history of Matthias Church, indulge your taste buds at Central Market Hall, see the interesting displays at Police Museum, and admire the landmark architecture of Dohány Street Synagogue.

If you are flying in from Czech Republic, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 30°C in June, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
