The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.

Visiting Haeundae Beach and Songjeong Beach will get you outdoors. Change things up with a short trip to Beopgi Fountainhead in Yangsan (about 48 minutes away). Traveling by car from Busan to Gyeongju takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In July in Gyeongju, expect temperatures between 87°F during the day and 73°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Fri) so you can fly to Jeju.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.

Visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong and Hamdeok Beach will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Halla Mountain, Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff, &more). Traveling by flight from Gyeongju to Jeju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, taxi, and ferry. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Mon) to allow enough time to fly to Andong.

Sitting along either side of the Nakdong River, Andong maintains an unrivalled reputation as a center for Korean folk and cultural heritage.

Get in touch with nature at Juwangsan National Park and Yangbaek Waterfall. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Andong: Yeongju (Museom Village & Seonbichon Village) and Gosu Cave (in Danyang-gun).
