Budapest — 5 nights

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
You'll explore and learn at Budapest Pinball Museum and House of Terror Museum. Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Prehistoric Man Exhibition (in Vertesszolos), Fenyes Education Trail of Tata (in Tata) and Esztergom Basilica / Cathedral (in Esztergom). There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Liberty Statue, pause for some photo ops at Heroes' Square, admire the landmark architecture of Vajdahunyad Castle (Vajdahunyadvar), and awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 25°C in September, and nighttime lows around 13°C.
