Budapest — 59 nights

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Koros Torok Sandy Beach and Tagore Promenade. Your inner history buff will appreciate Fisherman's Bastion and Heroes' Square. Change things up with these side-trips from Budapest: Eger (Varos a Varos Alatt, Nagy-Eged Mountain, &more), Art Glass Parad Kft (in Paradsasvar) and Recsk National Memorial Park (in Recsk). Spend the 2nd (Sat) exploring nature at Kiskunsagi Nemzeti Park. There's lots more to do: examine the collection at House of Terror Museum, tour the pleasant surroundings at Nagyvillam Ski Slope, get outside with City Park Városliget, and get a dose of the wild on Dog sled tour Matrafured.

For traveler tips, where to stay, reviews, and other tourist information, read our Budapest online vacation planner.

If you are flying in from France, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. In March, daily temperatures in Budapest can reach 14°C, while at night they dip to 1°C.
