Porto — 59 nights

Unvanquished City

Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Visit Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral) and Igreja da Ordem Terceira de São Francisco for their historical value. You'll explore and learn at Museu Serralves and Museu Nacional de Soares dos Reis. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Porto: Guimaraes (Igreja e Convento de Sao Francisco, Largo da Oliveira, &more), Coimbra (Misericordia de Coimbra Museum, Museu Nacional de Machado de Castro, &more) and Viseu (Church of the Third of San Francisco, Museu Almeida Moreira, &more). Spend the 18th (Fri) exploring nature at Peneda-Geres National Park. There's still lots to do: get the lay of the land with Walking tours, admire the striking features of Palacio da Bolsa, take in the exciting artwork at Belomonte 20, and see the interesting displays at FC Porto Museum.

Expect a daytime high around 20°C in November, and nighttime lows around 10°C.
