You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Attractions like Hungarian Parliament Building and Matthias Church make great kid-friendly stops. And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Fisherman's Bastion, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), boost your wellbeing at a local thermal spa, and head off the coast to Margaret Island.

The riverside town of Szentendre is an artsy enclave not far from Budapest.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Fri): have some family-friendly fun at Visegrad Gokart and Adventure Park, then step off the mainland to explore Priest's Island (Pap-sziget), and then admire the verdant scenery at Dera Creek.
