Braga — 7 nights

Referred to as the Portuguese Rome for its number churches, Braga represents an old town that today is the country's third-largest city. Situated in northwest Portugal, Braga boasts many narrow pedestrian streets, plazas, and spiritual pilgrimage destinations.
Get out of town with these interesting Braga side-trips: Miradouro de Sao Leonardo de Galafura (in Peso Da Regua), Santuario Nossa Senhora dos Remedios (in Lamego) and Viana do Castelo (O Navio Gil Eannes & Santuario de Santa Luzia). There's much more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Se de Braga, admire the striking features of Palacio do Raio, appreciate the extensive heritage of Centro Historico de Guimaraes, and steep yourself in history at Largo da Oliveira.

In September, daytime highs in Braga are 27°C, while nighttime lows are 16°C.
