Create an itinerary including Conwy Town Walls
Visit the medieval world’s answer to sophisticated government defense at Conwy Town Walls. Walk along the walls for less than 1.6 km (1 mi), then tour the full structure and inspect its 12 towers, three gate houses, 480 firing positions, and 12 ancient latrines. The walls date to 1287 and were among the most expensive installations of the time. They served to protect Conway Castle, which they did through several rebellions. Today, they remain completely intact and are among the best preserved in Europe. See Conwy Town Walls and all Conwy has to offer by arranging your trip with our Conwy travel itinerary planner.

  • Great views from the walls. You can see for miles. It's worth paying to go into Conwy Castle & climbing up to the turrets.

  • Definitely worth the time to walk the entire wall. Changing beautiful views from each side keeps your interest. Amazing views of the castle. Watch for creative stone work, like rock stairs up to towers.
  • The walk offers excellent views of the city of Conwy and is a fantastic way to see the surrounding scenery. Even better, it’s free! We were able to access the main section of the wall from near the train platform, but your best bet would be down by the Smallest House.
