Create an itinerary including Plas Mawr
Visit a remarkably well preserved Elizabethan-era townhouse at Plas Mawr, a "great hall" built in the 16th century for Welsh merchant Robert Wynn. Surrounded by the medieval town of Conwy and its 13th-century walls, admire this architectural gem's high, white walls and crow-stepped gables. Inside, take an audio tour to learn about the restoration of the house and the life of the Tudor gentry and their servants. View the original plasterwork and wooden wall paneling in seven of the house’s rooms. The restored furniture recreates the atmosphere of a 16th-century townhouse. • A very impressive Elizabethan merchant's house. The information sheets including a resume and plan of the house layout are most useful. If you are prepared to climb to the top of the house you can see the nearby castle, which should not be missed. Also, include a visit to St Mary's Church to see the tomb of Robert Wynne the builder of Plas Mawr.
  • Very interesting. A unique Elizabethan town house that has been furnished to represent how it was back then
