Manchester Town Hall is considered one of the best examples of Gothic revival architecture in the world. The ominous walls have seen many a mayor pass under their stone and stained glass. Names of the mayors who have taken office since 1838 are inscribed on the skylight in the landing. Look down at the mosaic floor depicting cotton flowers visited by bees. The Great Hall is decorated with the Manchester Murals, which illustrate the city's history. The building's most recognizable feature is the Great Abel clock tower, rising over 87 m (285 ft) above the rooftops. • Visited manchester after reading about its main attractions. The Castlefield urban heritage park sounded nice followed by a walk down the canal. Well the majority of the canal area was filthy, it really is shameful. Although there were some freshly painted empty rainbow planters, shame they didn't come down with some bin bags and pick some litter. Take some pride in your environment people of manchester.
  • Awful council only there to make money, they have no sympathy. Not from the area however I received a fine alleged bus lane. Didnt even acknowledge my response were much more bothered about the fine to be paid. Ridiculous especially with cost of living.
