Create an itinerary including Robert Treman State Park
Robert Treman State Park, a picturesque region of rocky gorges, creeks and waterfalls, boasts high-quality walking trails, camping grounds, a swimming beach and picnic grounds. Hike the gorge trail to see 12 different waterfalls, including the impressive Lucifer Falls. The multitiered falls cascades 35 m (115 ft). Visit the Enfield Falls Mill--which is on the National Register of Historic Places--and Miller's House, a former gristmill that ground buckwheat, wheat and coarser grains. It now serves as a small museum that documents the milling process. Head to the lower falls for the lifeguard-monitored swimming beach. Bring a picnic to enjoy at picnic tables under shady trees. • We loved this park and hiking trails. We did some part from the upper Treman during the winter. We took off FLT wearing spikes on icy days. And now in summer and fall we enjoy the natural up hills and down hills, the rivers and waterfall, gorgeous view from the top and Lucifer fall is absolutely stunning. You can make this one hour to 4 hours per your capacity and time adding in FLT and enjoying the wilderness. Wear comfortable shoes for your comfort and safety. Enjoy!!
  • Unless you're an avid hiker, do not start either the gorge or rim trail from the lower falls area to do a loop. Absolutely zero water scenes for the first 1.5 miles. Lucifer falls is worth it, but suggest that you start from the upper area gorge trail so that the hike is short (0.5 miles 1 way, and return up the way you came because the other side has nothing!) Watkins Glen and Buttermilk falls were much better and well maintained. It's a travesty that NY is charging for this park.
